Where do you get to go be a Car Guy?

Not a bad place to spend time

We all need some where to enjoy our hobby. Is yours watching a race on TV? Is it Barrett-Jackson on Speed? How about changing oil in the driveway? Maybe you’re lucky enough to have a Cobra replica with a Gurney-Eagle 351 with 4 down-draft Webers and short stacks in the garage!!

Well, I can’t be the only one that watches DIY. So between ManCaves and Barret-Jackson I had to do something.

We bought a smaller house last time and since it used to be a model home for our neighborhood, and the office was in the converted garage, it was heated and air-conditioned. I came to love that, so when we built this house, we added garage vents that can be opened and closed, as well as having the garage insulated very well. What a great place to build a Hot Rod garage!

How to start? I found loads of left over interior paint that hasn’t been used in 8 years. Let’s paint the garage! If Sage green and Natsuke beige was good enough for the inside of our house, it’ll probably do for my man-cave.

Not a bad start, but what does a man-cave garage need? Beer fridge? check. Hi-Def flat screen?

Daytona Replica Workbench

check. Surround sound? check. Custom workbench? check. Tools, lounger, fooseball? check check check. This is fun! Neon? Got it. Bottle opener? wouldn’t be without one.

It really is a theraputic thing to do. There is nothing better than, in spring time, having a race on the TV, in surround sound, while washing the car in the driveway, or maybe even offering a beer to a buddy while chatting…about racing…..like bench racing….in my garage…..hmmmm….I’m getting something here….maybe I should start a blog about bench racing in my garage……just need to figure out what to call it, nah! Nobody would read it anyway.

Anyhow, how would somebody outfit a place like that? Maybe if I had some old memorobilia I could work that into it. I’ve got a few die cast cars of my favorite Shelby’s and Mustangs.

You know, really, half the fun is getting all your stuff in one place! And seeing how much we may have actually collected over the years. Where are you a car guy?
